2010 Junior Department Contest Winners

From July/August 2010: The "Big E" Contest was held on Grange Sunday and the winners that will go on to Eastern States are:

7 & Under - Kayla Michaud of Hillstown.
8-10- Zach Dufrane of North Stonington
11-12- Jenna Cullers of North Stonington

Each first place winner will receive 4 tickets to the "Big E" and one parking pass. Thanks to all the Junior Grangers that entered.

2009 Junior Department Contest Winners

From July/August 2009: Congratulations to the winners of the "Big E" contest in Connecticut held on June 14th. In the 7 and under class, the winner is Thomas Osip of Hillstown Junior. His collage was on Pirates.

In the 8 - 10 class, the winner was Jessica Dame of North Stonington Junior. Her collage was on Flowers. The winner in the 11 - 14 age group was Julia Cullers of North Stonington Junior. Her collage was on Horses.

Thank you to all of the Juniors who participated. We had a good turnout. These winners will be going on to the "Big E" to compete against the other states in the Northeast Connection. They will receive tickets to the "Big E" and a parking pass.

2008 Junior Department Contest Winners

From November 2008: We are so proud to announce that Jaimie Cameron, of Ekonk Community Jr. Grange, is the new Junior Granger of the Year. She received the award at the Connecticut State Grange Session in Cromwell on October 18th 2008.

From July/August 2008: We had the runoff for the "Big E" contest for the Juniors. The contest was to make something for Valentin's Day. In the 7 and under age group the winner was Hanna Contino of N. Stonington Community Junior and in the 11-14 age group the winner was Julia Cullers also of N. Stonington Community Junior. Congratulations!

We were also very proud to have Katrina Sabastian of Ekonk Community Junior entered in both the Talent and the Junior Talent. She did a wonderful rendition of "I Don't Know How To Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar and "Amazing Grace" Fantastic job Kristina!!!! I hope you enter again next year. Thanks to all.

2007 Junior Department Contest Winners

From November 2007: Congratulations to the two winners at the Big E in September for their entries of 5x7 picture frames. The winners were, in the Age 5-8, first prize Fionay Smith and in the Age 9-11, Second prize Hayden Smith. They are both from North Stonington Community Jr. Grange. Great Job!!!

The winning picture frames were on display at the State Session. We had a very good State Session. Enough money was collected to buy 216 bike helmets. We also had 12 helmets donated. Thank you everyone who donated money, bought raffle tickets or candy at State Session, or bought hot dogs at Celebration Day. These helmets will be distributed to the Pomona Granges for them to give to their local organizations where there is a need.

We had 9 Juniors take part in the Junior program on Saturday afternoon at State Session. That was great. They did a great job. Our new Junior Granger of the Year is Jacob Gervais of Ekonk Community Junior Grange and the Community Service Award went to Ekonk Community Junior Grange.

Congratulations go out to all of the Juniors that entered the state contests. We had something entered in each contest.

From July/August 2007: Congratulations to the winners of the Big E Contest of 5x7 picture frames. All the entrants were members of North Stonington Community Jr. Grange.

First prize in the 5 - 7 age group is going to Fionay Smith. In the 8 - 10 age group the winner is Jeni Cullers and in the 11 - 14 age group is Hayden Smith. These entries will go on to the Big E to be judged with the entries from the rest of New England. Good luck to all.

Ribbons were also awarded to Noah Brown, Emily Taylor, Samantha Cullers and Nizhoni Brown. Thank you all for entering.
