| MAY 9, 2013 -- Thank you to everyone who helped with the Statewide Tag Sale on Apr. 27. With only a couple new additions, the items for sale were re-runs from last year’s sale, so it was a great surprise to make $56.85 on 5¢ and 10¢ items. All of the proceeds will go to the State Social Connection’s Food Bank charity and even more important to Litchfield Grange, all shoppers received invitations to the re-scheduled Litchfield Grange Open House in June (on the 2nd -- 1 P.M.).
Next up is our Degree and Inspection on May 13. All Granges are encouraged to “beat the bushes” and find those Fourth Degree members who have yet to receive the Fifth. Membership growth at the Pomona level is just as important as it is the the community Grange. Dinner is $5 at 6:00 P.M. with the degree meeting beginning at 7:30 P.M.
This is the meeting we will also distribute the tickets for the annual Pomona Gift Drawing. A decision has been made to change this year’s drawing to GIFT CARDS only. All Pomona officers are asked to make a monetary donation to the drawing and gift cards will be purchased in the following amounts ($50 Wal-Mart; $25 Stop & Shop; $10 Target; $10 McDonald’s). Any additional donations will be used to purchase “bonus” gift cards to be drawn at the same time. The drawing will be held at the June 24 meeting of Pomnoa at Eureka Grange. Tickets will be $1.00 each. This is the only major fundraiser for the Pomona, so please purchase as many as you can!
