Killingly Grange News for December

By Glenna Bruno

  DECEMBER 1, 2013 --

As all will know by now - we at Killingly Grange #112 will have our new Master in place.  Also, despite pending storms, we held a meeting, with a quorum for the initiation of a new member, Steve Berthiem so he could attend State Session with new Master Bernadette Schuster.  PM Glenna Bruno presided.

On October 14 Edith Schoell and her installing team did a lovely job of installing our members.  We had to elect a new Pomona, Mildred Biggs replacing deceased Genevieve Shippee and Josephine Stenback as Flora replacing deceased Sue Dupre.  Sue and Genevieve were two of our oldest members not only in membership but in age.  We do miss them.

As of this writing, Nov. 8, we will be electing a new Ceres, Secretary, Treasurer and Assistant Steward as they have taken demits.

Five (5) members attended State Session in Norwich.  This was a great experience for our new Master Bernadette.  She learned much and had a good time meeting other officers of the State and National Granges.

We held a chicken pot pie and soup dinner and a bluegrass concert.  It was a busy month.  Bernadette has lots of new ideas and energy so hopefully we will be gaining many new members.

Dec. 2:  Safety for Winter
