Rhode Island State Grange to hold 124th annual session

The 124th annual session of the Rhode Island State Grange will be held from Thursday, Oct. 7, to Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Ramada Inn, located at 940 Fall River Ave., Seekonk. The times of each session are as follows: Thursday, Oct. 7, at 8:30 a.m.; Friday, Oct. 8, at 8:30 a.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 9, at 8:30 a.m.

Special guest at the convention representing the National Grange will be Thomas Severence, the High Priest of Demeter of the National Grange. There will be reports of the different resolutions that delegates or alternates representing local granges around the state have assigned to them. There will also be reports and awards presentations for the directors.

There will also be a session for the election and installation of Rhode Island State Grange officers. Other highlights of the session will be the Obligation of the Fifth Degree, followed by the conferral of the Sixth Degree in full ritualistic form on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m.

The session is open to all local Fourth Degree grange members with the exception of the first day. Oct. 7 when the Grange is opened in the 6th Degree and lowered to the 4th Degree and the conferral of the 6th Degree on Thursday evening Oct. 7.
