| MARCH 10, 2011 -- Jeanne B. Davies, former President of Colorado State Grange, has recently been awarded Humanitarian of the Year for 2011 by Premiere Who's Who for showing commitment, leadership and greatness in all fields of agricultural services.
Davies, an Agricultural Specialist, has 32 years and growing of experience in her profession. Fourteen of those years were devoted with the Colorado State Grange. As president of Colorado State Grange organization, she was responsible for promoting and managing agricultural groups and assorted chapters overlooking land issues as well as property and water rights. Davies aided members of Grange chapters throughout the state, provided instructive services and gave speeches on agriculture and Grange. Furthermore, she overlooked agricultural development, arranged local Grange activities, aided with rural community conflicts & exerted herself with Grange employees to plan benefits. Davies was vice president for 4 years and also assisted the executive board of the National Grange for 12 years.
Ms. Davies is actively involved with her local library associations. She established quite a few libraries throughout the state of Colorado and is also the moniker for the Jeanne Davies Public Library. Ms. Davies has published a trustee manual for the American Library Association, and was commended with the Outstanding Trustee Award by the National Library Association for her efforts to service the library.
Ms. Davies featured her success to her adoration for her profession and will to help others in need. An embellished award winner, Ms. Davies was the first woman to be inducted in the Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame — an achievement which she is particularly proud of. She was also named Farm Woman of the Year by the High Plains/Midwest AG Journal in 1983 as well as one of America's 15 Most Influential Women of Agriculture by Farm Woman's Magazine in 1966.
Currently Premiere Who's Who named Ms. Davies our 2011 "Humanitarian of the Year", a title in which only one member from each reputable field is awarded annually. Never one to rest on her commendations, on the other hand, Ms. Davies intends to address larger issues as part of the Colorado State Grange and National Grange in the near future. |
