| SEPTEMBER 2, 2011 -- THANK YOU! My sincere thanks to everyone who helped in any way with Lecturers’ Conference. To the 34 Connecticut Grangers who ventured to Bridgewater, Massachusetts -- Thank you! To All who were good sports and participated in our “Spicy” program I say, Thank You! To those who couldn’t attend, but sent numbers and ideas for me to use, Thank You. And, to everyone who had anything to do with my gift, Thank You. Connecticut Grangers are the BEST.
Our program was spicy… Spicy food, spicy music, spicy dancers, a spicy poem, and even a spicy commercial.
Beth Bradley of Greenfield Hill Grange, our Talent Winner, placed third in the Northeast. Thank You Beth for representing all of us. This is the last year there will be a North East Talent Competition. Next year on Tuesday evening there will be a Variety Show featuring one or more numbers from each of the states. Connecticut will still have its Talent Contest along with the “A Number” Contest on Grange Sunday.
On Thursday, after everyone else had left, the State Lecturers met again and started planning for 2012. It will be held in New Hampshire. The theme of the conference will be “Beyond The Earth”. Connecticut’s program will be on the Moons. Others will be doing programs on planets, stars, comets, asteroids, constellations and the sun. Please keep your eyes open for ideas we can use in our program.
