| MARCH 6, 2014 -- Our congratulations go out to Charles Bierce of Riverton Grange for winning Best In Show at the National Grange Photo Contest last November. I had the honor and pleasure of presenting him with a check from National Grange at their last meeting. Have you taken any pictures for this years’ contest?
There are five categories – America the Beautiful, Animals, Grangers In Action, Family Celebrations, and, Historic Places of events. Hopefully by the time you read this, spring will be in the air. What a perfect time to take a picture of nature at its best. This would certainly be America the Beautiful. Photos will be judged on Sat. June 7th at Cheshire Grange Hall. All Pomonas should be holding their Talent and “A Number” Contest soon. The winners in your Pomona will compete at Let’s Celebrate on Sunday, June 8th, also at Cheshire Grange Hall. This will be a day of Grange spirit at its best. Why not plan on making a day of it. Full details are in the Bluebook, or watch this column for more details.
It was certainly nice meeting so many of you at the Subordinate Schools of Instruction. A lot of good ideas came from our discussions and will be incorporated into next years programs.
Old man winter has kept me from visiting a few Granges. Hopefully the warmer weather that should be coming will make for better traveling and eliminate the need for canceling meetings.
