“THE GRANGE IS a Family Organization that is open to men, women and teenagers. The Grange provides Service to the Community, support to agriculture and assists the needy. Grangers support their own members in times of need and keep in contact with housebound members. GRANGERS ALSO HAVE FUN!”
The above was written by Marion D. Bradley of Totoket Grange and is the First Place Winner in the Essay Contest. Other winners announced at State Session were: 2nd Karen Macdonald, Redding Grange 3rd Sue Gray, Ekonk Community Grange
Honorable Mentions were awarded to: Sue Betko, Hillstown Grange Eleanor Davis, Killingly Grange Lois Evankow, Lyme Grange Barbara Kulisch, Old Lyme Grange Susan Carol Sulier, Trumbull Grange, and, Regina Stands, Old Lyme Grange
This contest proved to be very popular and will be continued next year.
