APRIL 2008 --
Hello everyone! I hope that you have been enjoying this winter. I am sure looking forward to the spring season. At this time I would like to thank everyone that participated in the Bowl-A-Thon.
This winter has brought some changes to the Youth Program with the assigning of a new National Youth Director, who is Charlene M. Shupp Espenshade from Pennsylvania. I am looking forward to be working with her in the future.
Also this spring, the Youth Committee, in coordination with the Legislative Committee, will be holding a contest for Youth members to pick a legislative issue of concern for them and write about it. Youth members will lobby for this issue with hopes of getting it heard by their legislators. The website for this contest is www.northeast.mygrange.org. This site will have all of the contest rules. I would also like to announce that the Youth will hold a Lasagna Dinner at noon on Grange Sunday. Also at that time, the Youth will have their State Run-offs in the Public Speaking, Sign-a–Song and Lip Sync contests. Though it has been a quiet winter for the youth it looks as if it will be a busy time to come.
