From The Chaplain's Desk
March 2009 Chaplain's Corner

By Amy Whitcomb, State Chaplain

  MARCH 2009 --

As we continue our journey into 2009, we need to consider some spiritual resolutions for the year.  We need to take a look at our life and see what needs attention.  Where could improvement take place?  Practice the attitude of gratitude daily.  There is always something to be thankful for.  Find it.  You should let your light shine.  Offset darkness by being light.  Remember what Jesus said “You are the light of the world.  Let your light shine.”

Stretch yourself.  Do something to expand your comfort zone.  Push yourself to make a difficult call, reach out for a new friend, and sign up for the marathon of life.  Get rid of meanness and pettiness.  The best way to do this is by constantly being a person who is courteous, respectful, kind, grateful and who exhibits generosity of spirit.

Keep fine tuning your life and you will be the happy person you always were.  Remember Spring will be coming soon and all of us will find a renewal of our life.
