Note: Refreshments and Social Time at 7PM with meeting at 7:30 PM.

Our October meeting had a Halloween theme with costumes optional. Barbara Prindle obligated Andrus Nichols and welcomed her as a new member of our Grange. We discussed our Potluck/Awards dinner to be held on Oct. 24th. Ruth Schnell will receive her 65 year seal. The largest part of the meeting was a lively discussion of all 18 resolutions to be voted on at the Connecticut State Grange Session. We do this so everyone can say yes or no on each resolution. Then Debbie and I, as delegates, can reflect the vote of our Grange and not just our opinions.

I am writing this as I wait for 250 bicycle riders to stop here at our Grange Hall. They are taking part in the Lime Rock Park Epic which is a cycling event that combines aspects of road cycling, mountain biking, and cyclocross. This is the 3rd year they use our Grange hall as a “pit stop” where they have lunch and since it is raining, they can change into dry clothes. It is a great way to get people into our hall and talk to them about the Grange.
